CHRISTCHURCH, NZ – February 22, 2022 – Geoscience software company Seequent, a Bentley company, has been named Best Established Business in the New Zealand International Business Awards 2021. The New Zealand International Business Awards are the country’s most prestigious awards for export businesses.
A previous Supreme Award and Best Established Business winner at the New Zealand International Business Awards, judges in 2021 were impressed by Seequent’s focus on continuous improvement and reinvention. In addition, judges commended Seequent on its growth potential in established and emerging target sectors, and clear vision, values, purpose and culture as they continue to raise the bar for their competitors and themselves.
Seequent Chief Executive Graham Grant says: “We’re thrilled to win this award from such a diverse range of companies, and congratulate finalists on their fantastic achievements. We are immensely proud of our close to 650-strong global Seequent team, who delivered stellar results last year, exercising true ingenuity and tenacity in trying circumstances due to COVID-19. It was a transformative year for Seequent, as we continued to invest in innovative solutions to help our mining, environmental, civil, and energy users.”
Seequent delivers industry-leading software for earth modelling, geo-data management and team collaboration – helping customers in more than 120 countries to see the full picture and make better decisions for people and the planet.
Daniel Wallace, Seequent’s Chief Revenue Officer, says: “Seequent believes the geoscientist’s voice is critical to understanding our planet. Every day, our team supports the global geoscience community to make more sustainable and better decisions about the earth and the environment and face our energy challenges. Our customers truly inspire us every day with the amazing and important work they do using our software – sometimes in applications, we’d never imagined.”
Grant added that Seequent’s success is due to an enormous amount of work and commitment from staff past and present over many years and support from organisations such as NZTE and customers worldwide.
“A heartfelt thank you to all who have been on this journey with us. We share a big responsibility to continue the work done before us, and we’re just getting started on the next exciting chapter of the Seequent story.”
The New Zealand International Business Awards celebrate the success of Aotearoa New Zealand’s businesses on the world stage and recognise excellence and innovative practice. Winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges with extensive experience in growing businesses internationally. The 2021 awards, with a record 53 finalists, were held online for the first time.
David Downs, convenor of judges for the awards, said: “After an incredibly challenging two years in business, it was a pleasure to be able to recognise our extraordinary finalists and reveal the winners of this year’s awards. These businesses have really done Aotearoa proud, they’re making remarkable progress in international markets, and they’re bringing the results of that progress home to benefit all of us. I think that is worth shouting from the rooftops.”
