Pat McLarin has over 25 years in the geospatial space, including 6 years at Seequent. Pat leads Seequent’s strategy for civil infrastructure and participates in open standard development to raise the profile of the geotechnical disciplines in BIM and digital twins.
Bentley and Seequent recognise that understanding the underground is critical to improving infrastructure design. Through his collaboration with Bentley, Pat is focused on enhancing solutions that connect the subsurface with the engineering design environment to ensure customers have a complete picture of their project.

Pat holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems and a Bachelor of Regional Planning with Honours from Massey University. He was previously a Product and Project Manager for Geospatial mapping equipment and earth moving machine control at Trimble.
Pat was involved in buildingSMART’s IFCTunnel project, which focuses on developing open BIM standards for tunnelling. He is also a member of the New Zealand Digital Twin Partnership (DTP-NZ) leadership team. Both projects aim to support geo-professionals in integrating their work into BIM and digital twin approaches for infrastructure.
