Integration of core logging, structural geology, lithogeochemistry and geometallurgy: Mawson’s Rajapalot Gold-Cobalt Project, Finland
Following the discovery of gold in a small outcrop in the Peräpohja belt, Finnish Lapland in 2012, Mawson has been building resources at the Rajapalot gold-cobalt project.
Integration of detailed lithological, structural and petrophysical logging of drill core in combination with multi-element geochemistry has allowed 3D understanding of the relationships between the amphibolite facies poly-deformed host package and the post-metamorphic late controls on the emplacement of the gold and associated metals. This talk describes the complex interplay of the controls on gold and cobalt using Leapfrog Geo and Edge as our primary 3D tool.
