Bentley Systems, the infrastructure engineering software company, has announced today that it has formally acquired Seequent Ltd. Click here to read the full press release.
Seequent will retain its brand and unique identity, operating as a standalone business unit within Bentley with Seequent’s Chief Executive Officer Graham Grant, reporting to Bentley’s Chief Product Officer Nicholas Cumins. Grant says, “We are delighted to be a part of the Bentley family because together we are much greater than the sum of our parts. It is a great privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility to continue our dynamic momentum and high growth rate. With a shared vision of infrastructure for life, we can help our customers unlock the power of connected people and products.”
Delivering a clearer picture of what lies beneath
At the heart of Bentley and Seequent coming together are sophisticated technologies, intersecting the worlds of built asset certainty above the ground with the uncertain complexities of the geoscience subsurface – deepening the potential of the digital twin. “By getting a true picture of the subsurface, teams can explore, build, monitor and maintain a lifetime digital twin, resulting in a better understanding of the risks and opportunities and ultimately making better decisions,” remarks Cumins.
Complex challenges solved by powerful geotechnical solutions
As geotechnical projects become even more complex, teams need greater confidence in the geoscience disciplines, which support all surface infrastructure. Grant says, “We are excited to bring together the best of the geotechnical numerical and data management solutions software. Connecting this expanded portfolio of Bentley and Seequent solutions will enable teams to work together – both above and below ground. This will lead to enhanced project workflows and new insights that lower overall risk and deliver infrastructure for life.”
Preparing for a sustainable and resilient future
Seequent’s vision hasn’t changed. We want to enable better decisions about earth, environment and energy challenges. This aligns very well with Bentley’s mission to provide innovative software and services for the enterprises and professionals who design, build, and operate the world’s infrastructure – advancing both the global economy and the environment for improved quality of life. Our long-term commitment in delivering collaborative technologies to all our customers, supporting a sustainable and resilient future continues to be our priority. “Whether we are helping our mining customers to operate more responsibly and sustainably across the whole of the mining lifecycle; supporting owner-operators’ and engineering firms’ need to design and deliver resilient infrastructure safely, on time and within budget while lowering impact on the planet; accelerating the transition of energy companies to cleaner and more renewable energy; or augmenting resilience against floods, seismic, climate, and water security threats. We are investing, and together as part of Bentley, we are excited to be part of something bigger: to enable a resilient future.” Closes Grant.
