Seequent is honoured to be a winner in the prestigious Westpac Champion Business Awards 2021 for the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade – Champion Established Exporter category.

The Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the aspirations, successes, and commitment to excellence within the Canterbury, New Zealand business community.

Graham Grant, CEO, says the win is a testament to the Seequent team of 600+ who have delivered stellar achievements in a year where the company attained “unicorn status” with its acquisition by Bentley Systems.

“Geoscience shapes our world,” says Grant. “We help customers in over 120 countries working at the intersection of people and the planet to create geoscience models that better visualise and understand what’s deep beneath the earth.”

As a global tech leader, Seequent has continued its rapid growth trajectory with a strong management team and passionate employees, driven by a clear vision: that a better understanding of the Earth creates a better world for all.

Seequent brings together industry-leading earth modelling, geo-data management, and team collaboration software with a belief that when everyone can see the full picture, they can make better decisions that benefit people and the planet.

“Our software helps protect precious groundwater, design and build the world’s future infrastructure, or manage what’s already in the ground, unlock long term renewable energy and source vital mineral resources sustainably,”

says Grant. Seequent software has expanded its use across the civil, environmental, mining, and energy sectors as well as supporting non-profit and academic programs.

“Every day geoscientists are changing the world, from supporting the United Nations to source water for refugee camps, better understanding the impact of climate change in Antarctica, or protecting ancient underground organisms, and Seequent is here to help.”

This year’s record number of high calibre Westpac Champion Business Awards entries shows the vibrancy and vision of the region’s businesses that not only take the best of New Zealand’s expertise to the world but bring new opportunities and positive outcomes to local communities.

“We couldn’t be prouder to be recognised alongside such innovative, highly adaptive, and responsive business leaders,” says Grant.
